Saturday morning, a frantic search was on for NetZero decals and someone to place them on the No. 60 Chevrolet, driven by David Green. The No. 0 NetZero Pontiac driven by Jason Leffler, did not make the field for the running of the EA Sports 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Green's car is red and white, problem may arise as NetZero decals are white. UPDATE A twelve inch strip of black contact paper was place across the hood, making it possible for the white NetZero letters to show.

He literally spent two hours cutting the nubbies off the sides of four Goodyear Eagle Superspeedway Radials, with hopes the driver would have a faster qualifying speed later in the day.

Tiger's Caddie In Pits

Johnny Benson will receive a little help in the pits at Talladega this weekend from Steve Williams, owner and driver for Caddyshack Racing. Diagnosed Yet Spirit Remains

February 5, 1999, was the day Cody Unser, daughter of former CART champion Al Unser Jr., was rushed to the emergency room, by the next morning she was unable to walk, paralyzed below her chest. Diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a disorder of the spinal cord, with no effective cure currently existing, Cody wills her way to a full life. Today the 16 years old, bound to a wheelchair, was able to meet her need for speed. Following the CART race in Miami, Cody drove a Ford truck equipped with hand controls in a post race Victory lap with the top three finishers onboard. Wally Dallenbach, father of NASCAR's Wally Dallenbach Jr., spent time making sure Cody was familiar with the l.15 mile street circuit For more on Cody

  • Albert Unser, Cody's brother is currently a Barber Dodge Pro Series racer.

    How True Is Rumor

According to a Cal Wells team member, the rumor of Joe Nemechek driving a second Dodge for the team sponsored by Kodak, appears to be absolutely false. The unnamed source said that no additional parts, tools or evidence of a second car have been spotted anywhere on the Wells premises .

Joe Nemechek, has lost his ride with the No. 25 UAW-Delphi Chevrolet at seasons end.

    MBNA Has A Bonus!

The MBNA Mid-Race Leader Award is worth $10,000 to a participating team if they are leading the race at halfway. MBNA also pays a $5,000 bonus if the halfway-point leader goes on to win the race. If the bonus isn’t collected, the $5,000 rolls over to the next event. The MBNA bonus has reached $65,000 and was last collected at Infineon Raceway when Robby Gordon led mid-race and went on to win.

    Where Are They Now.

  • DARWIN OORDT, known in racing as the owner of Galaxy Motorsports No. 75 Winston Cup team, has sold his Tennessee Walking Horse farm, newspapers and local race track and supposedly disappeared. Wally Dallenbach once a driver for Oordt, stated this weekend at Talladega that he hadn't seen a dime from his twelve million dollar lawsuit against his previous car owner.

  • BRIAN ROSE, former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver was suspended indefinitely by NASCAR last season due to their drug-abuse policy. Once a driver for Bobby Hamilton, the 23 year old allegedly failed to show up in court in regard to a traffic stop.

    State Funding Lost

Alabama residents recently voted down a proposed tax increase, leaving the Governor no choice but to make budget cuts. As of October 1, 2003 all state funding has been lost for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame & Museum located in front of Talladega Superspeedway. The museum is busy making cuts of their own, seeking sponsorships and hoping to rent out the Speed Channel Dome for any group function you might have.

The 37,000 square foot facility will hold 1,600 for a sit-down dinner and 2,500 for meetings. The Dome has dressing rooms, a 50' by 30' stage with a 22' by 26' screen, a 312-space paved parking lot that is independent of the Hall of Fame, and a holding kitchen. And, best of all, when you rent the Speed Channel Dome, all of your guests are admitted to the Hall of Fame free.

  • JACK SPRAGUE the latest ex-Winston Cup driver, previously with No. 0 NetZero, returned to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving the No. 11 IWX Motor Freight Chevrolet, as a teammate of Travis Kvapil in this weekends Las Vegas race, finishing in fifth position.

    RERUN FROM MAY 24, 2003
Scott Pruett - Where Is He Now

Scott Pruett may have quietly left NASCAR behind, but he's dominating the Trans-Am Series by winning races and etching his name in the record books. Driving a Jaguar XKR in the BFGoodrich Tires Cup Round 3, at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario Pruett was perfection as Sunday's race winner.

Winning the race trophy, clinched his captured of the "American Thunder Challenge" award, given to the driver who wins the pole, leads the most laps, sets the fastest race lap and wins the race.

After a seven year absence in the Trans-Am Series, Pruett is back with three straight poles, making his 23rd series pole, equaling the record held by the late Mark Donohue.

Prior to his venture into NASCAR and 31 Winston Cup starts, Pruett was a Trans-Am Series champion in 1987 and 1994. Back to his old form he is currently leading the 2003 Drivers’ Championship in that Series. UPDATE It's official Scott Pruett, not only wins today's Motorock Trans-Am Tour for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup-Motorock Miami 100 but obtains his Third Trans-Am Series CHAMPIONSHIP.

    Right Or Left Eye Driving

BOBBY HAMILTON says, "Most race car drivers drive looking out of one dominant eye. Mine is the right eye. I focus on what I am doing with the wheel and the front of my truck with that eye. My left eye is usually about 14 trucks ahead of me, so I am prepared for what is going on with the other trucks on the race track. That left eye is trained to look for smoke or a truck out of line on the race track. My right eye is looking at the truck in front of me so I can judge about passing. It's weird if you think about it. It just happens naturally."

While asking Frank Kimmel his theory on the subject, he looked at me like I was crazy. Evidently it isn't something frequently thought about by drivers. Kimmel joked, how his competitors accuse him of driving with his eyes closed and how important it was to always watch what was happening ahead of you.

    Dallenbach Gets Busch Ride

Wally Dallenbach announced at Talladega he is under contract to drive the No. 89 Auto Dry Car Wash Ford, at Kansas, Atlanta, Phoenix, Homestead and Daytona 2004 in the NASCAR Busch Series.
