Trawling on eBaY for the Eclectic NASCAR Fan

Are you a sports bar owner, or does your game room just look like one? Maybe you’re even more severely inflicted as I am, where your entire house has become a shrine to the sport. Allow me to point out a few offerings now listed on that great on-line flea market for your considerations. Some of the following are tracked in collectors guides at hefty values, while others are simply unique, obscure, or just plain . . . well, cool.

Leading off this weeks showcase . . .

Item #1

Dan Hatala lithographed print.

This is a 24" x 18" print from back in the day, of a driver working on his 1964 Impala in the infield while his son watches leaning against the hood of his own pedal car. Classic and poignant, this print can be had for less than $15. To view the auction copy and paste the following link;

Item #2

1983 ERTL Richard Petty 1/64th scale pull-back diecast.

This diecast was actually manufactured back when the car was fielded, a full 6 years before the RACING CHAMPIONS brand ushered in the "modern era" of 1/64th NASCAR diecast replicas. The car is Petty’s Buick ( yes, he drove a Buick back then . . . ) Regal, and it has a pull-back wind-up motor inside of it. Most toys of this nature are played with incessantly, and few of these are still left in mint condition, driving the value of those still pristine into the stratosphere. When left in their original package, these Petty cars have commanded as much as $400. This particular car appears in excellent condition, and is a steal at it’s "BUY IT NOW" price of only $20.
Item #2

Item #3

1987 "The Winston" poster with Tim Richmond letting it all "hang out".

This poster shows all of the eligible drivers posing in uniform. There are two rows of drivers, one kneeling in front of the other, for the picture. Tim Richmond is standing in the second row behind the kneeling Neil Bonnett. Ever the prankster, Richmond lowered his fly and, before the photo was taken, had managed to have his "attachment" ( as David Hobbs would want to say ) hanging just behind Neil’s ear. You could stare at the poster for hours and not notice it until someone tells you what to look for, so it’s still safe to hang in the game room without offending anyone.

A great piece of NASCAR history, this 23" x 18" poster is a period "who’s-who" of future Hall-of-Famers and includes Richmond, Bonnett, Bobby Allison, D.W., Harry Gant, Benny Parsons, Davey Allison, Geoff Bodine, Buddy Baker, Cale Yarbrough, Richard & Kyle Petty, Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, Terry Labonte, Rusty Wallace and others. At the time of this writing, listed at only $9.95. To view the auction, copy and paste the following link;

Item #4

1968 Ford Galaxie fastback NASCAR retro-build. This full-driver car features a 351 Cleveland from a ‘71 Mach1 Mustang, lots of new chrome, a 2" suspension lowering, NASCAR style 15" x 7" wheels, and vintage PAINTED-ON sponsor logos. The auction listing includes 17 different photos of the car. A time machine with a VIN number, currently listed with a high bid of only $2550. To view the auction, copy and paste the following link;
