1. Thought it might be a guitar bomb planted by al Qaeda
2. Heard somebody say it was a Fender so I thought I’d beat it out a little bit
3. Had a bet with my crew chief about whether I could do something so stupid that NASCAR would order me to take a drug test.
4. Sam Bass had painted Dale Junior’s face on the front of the guitar.
5. Chicks dig it.
6. I asked J.D. Gibbs which rock group I should imitate in Victory Lane and he said “Who?”
7. I wanted to kick over some amplifiers and blow up the drums but the guitar was all I had
8. Wanted to show that I can do Victory Lane celebrations better than Junior -- except to prove that Junior first has to actually win a race and that won't happen because with Junior it’s always the crew chief. Tee hee.
9. Didn’t intend to smash the guitar but suddenly last year’s Chase flashed before my eyes and I couldn’t control the rage.
10. I always dreamed about smashing the Heisman Trophy with a sledgehammer but I was too scrawny to play football.
