NCTS Nashville Superspeedway Illegal Parts

Brendan Gaughan No. 77 South Point Hotel Chevrolet, had a gold chain steering wheel confiscated during first round of inspections on Friday at Nashville Superspeedway. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series officials tagged the item "Not Approved Essay". On the steering wheel was marked "SFI approved essay".

  • No. 90 Gabi DiCarlo - Great Clips Ford took a provisional to start - ended the race in 23rd.

    Burney Lamar

Burney Lamar visited Nashville Superspeedway this weekend visiting friends and making sure he wasn't forgotten. A fan, who kept an eye on Lamar for awhile, said he saw him in discussion with several truck owners. Lamar of Nashville, Tennessee, has been out of a ride since Dollar General and Kevin Harvick Inc. decided to pull him from the No. 77 NASCAR Busch Series car.

    David Starr Surprises Fans

David Starr, driver of the No. 10 Maxx Force International Diesel Power Ford, made a surprise visit to the Maxx Force Suites during the Toyota ARCA 150 race on Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway. The fans gave Starr a round of applause that could be heard on row one of the stands. Autographs immediately followed and the ARCA RE/MAX race was forgotten.

    Benson Still Upset

Johnny Benson, driver of the No. 23 Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Toyota, won the 2006 Nashville Superspeedway, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and went home with the coveted Sam Bass Gibson Guitar. If all was fair in life, Benson would have a second guitar, won at the Nashville Music City Motorplex ten years ago. A scoring error gave the win to another driver, Benson persisted until he proved that he was the actual winner but as far as officials were concerned it was a moot point.

    Craftsman Celebrates 80th Anniversary

Craftsman celebrates their 80th anniversary during August 2007. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams are carrying a special 80th Anniversary decal during the month. The NCTS truck leading on lap 80 of both the Nashville Superspeedway and Bristol Motor Speedway race will receive an additional $8,000 prize. Mike Skinner won the award during the Toyota Tundra 200 this weekend, and praised Craftsman for stepping up with the money.

    Full Field

The Nashville Superspeedway, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race ended up with a full field of 36 trucks on Saturday, after several teams brought out backup cars. Bobby Hamilton Racing ran a second Fastenal Dodge with Joe Ruttman who ran two laps before heading to the pits. Ruttman later returned to complete a total of 12 laps and be scored as running at race end.

    Inside Herman's World

Motorsports publisher Coastal 181 recently released "Inside Herman's World", the autobiography of NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace, starting when he was only a young child. The book is written by Joyce Standridge and is a great read whether you are a fan of Kenny's or even NASCAR for that matter. The book is full of interesting, funny and even sad stories. It is fast paced, a quick read and you leave with an understanding of the Wallace family. There are over 300 pictures, giving you a face for the story being told. The soft cover large size book has 264 pages and sells new for under $24.00. One fact, completely erased from my mind was that Kenny Wallace was a NASCAR Cup crew chief for a year. Male or female this book is definitely recommended for all to read, you will be guaranteed to learn something new and entertaining.

    Crocs Are Made For Races

Crocs have been around for several years and you either have a pair, want a pair or have a funny story to tell about them. I've also noticed individuals believe Crocs came about because of an event in their area. Crocs are definitely sweeping the nation, and now race fans can purchase the Limited-edition Dale Earnhardt, Jr. - Black and Red, No. 8 Crocs before the current supply is gone. They are made from a lightweight, odor resistant, anti microbial material called Croslite and are unbelievably comfortable and come in 35 colors. Crocs have a built in arch support making it comfortable for those with foot problems. One thing you must know before buying is that they should not fit like other shoes. The sides of your foot should not touch the sides of the shoe, you should have a space in front of your toes and behind your heel. Yes, they will stay on! Numerous NASCAR drivers now have their own special edition Crocs, check them out online or when you visit the souvenir section at your next NASCAR race.

Crocs are perfect for wearing on race weekend. They are comfortable, cool and walking through those water puddles without a care. Check 'em out
