Champions Week "Victory Lap"

On Wednesday, November 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern time, NASCAR's top-10 Drivers will celebrate the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season in a traditional “Victory Lap” -- with a procession through the streets of New York City. The 1.5 mile, 10-Stock Car victory lap procession beginning and ending in New York City’s Times Square. The procession features the top-10 drivers in the final 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series point standings: including champion Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton, Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick.

  • Start Line: 44th Street and Broadway in front of Good Morning America’s Times Square Studios.
  • Finish Line: 43rd Street and 7th Avenue in front of The Hard Rock Café

    2007 Victory Lap Route (Distance 1.5 miles)

  • Start: 44th Street and Broadway
  • Left on Broadway
  • South on Broadway towards 42nd Street
  • Left (heading east) on 42nd Street
  • Left (heading north) on Madison Avenue
  • Left (heading west) on 53rd Street
  • Left (heading south) on Broadway
  • Veer right on 7th Avenue
  • Concludes on 7th Avenue and 43rd Street in front of the Hard Rock Café

    NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Awards Ceremony Set For Friday

    The NASCAR Nextel Cup Series awards ceremony set for next Friday, November 30th. The setting will be the usual place, the famous Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue, New York City, New York. Jimmie Johnson, the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Champion will be officially "crowned". The event will be carried by ESPN Classic, scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The show will be rebroadcast at 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on ESPN2 on December 1, 2007. Musical guest is Kelly Clarkson.
