Lyndon Amick was born Jun 30, 1977 in Saluda, South Carolina. Amick’s racing career started at age 15 with go-karts. In 1994, he made the move to the NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series where he won the series championship in 1996. He made the move to the Busch Series in 1997 driving the Amick Farm’s No. 35 Rockwell Pontiac and Chevrolet. The 15 starts in the NASCAR Busch Series was a bumpy start filled with four crashes and six DNFs, but Amick recorded a 15th place finish in the Kroger 200 Presented by ZipLoc at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

In 1998, Amick finished fourth in the Myrtle Beach 250 and ninth in the Lycos.com 300 Presented by Valleydale Foods at South Boston Speedway. He suffered through nine DNQs, two crashes, and two engine failures during the season to record one top five and two top ten finishes.

During the 1999 NASCAR Busch Series season, Amick finished fifth at Talladega in the Touchstone Energy 300, ninth in the Auto Club 300 at California Speedway, and tenth in the Sam’s Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park. He was still plagued with two engine failures and seven crashes and failed to qualify for five events.

With sponsor Powertel teaming up with Amick’s No. 35 Chevrolet, Amick finished ninth in the Hardee’s 250 at Richmond International Raceway, and tenth in the Alltel 200 at Rockingham and in the Suncom 200 at Darlington. Amick recorded 29 starts in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2000 charting three top ten finishes. Driving for Kenny Schrader, Amick grabbed a win in the ARCA race at Charlotte in 2000. He made two starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving Schrader’s No. 52 Penda Truck Accessories Chevrolet qualifying third in the Daytona 250 finishing 22nd after being swept up in a crash. He finished second in the Power Stroke 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Amick made six starts in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2001 recording a seventh place finish in the GNC Live Well 200 at Watkins Glen. He drove Ken Schrader’s No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet in two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series recording a ninth place finish in the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 at Daytona.

In 2002, Amick was signed by Busch Series car owner, David Carroll to drive the No. 26 Dr Pepper Chevrolet. After a dismal performance by the team, Amick was released in May. Amick landed a ride in the No. 15 Sunrise Farm Fresh Ford Taurus fielded by PPC Racing finishing ninth in their debut event, the Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway. Amick failed to qualify the No. 15 for the Aaron’s 312 at Atlanta Motorspeedway.

Amick returned to the Amick Farm’s Monte Carlo in 2003 and was caught up in the “big one” at the team’s debut in the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega relegating him to a 36th place finish for his final race in the Busch Series. In November of 2003, Amick put his racing career on hold and signed on to three years of duty with the Army National Guard.

In seven years of NASCAR Busch Series competition, Amick made 93 starts, two top fives, ten top tens and led 40 laps. In two years of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition, Amick made four starts, recording one top five, two top tens, and led 13 laps.
