Aaron's 312 Penalty List

Talladega Superspeedway's NASCAR Nationwide Series Infraction List consists of 14 drivers penalized a total of 22 times .

  • T.J. Bell #50 made an adjustment outside the impound procedure and was sent to the tail end of the starting lineup
  • Kurt Busch #1 removed equipment from his pit area and was assessed a stop and go sending him to the tail end of the field
  • Pitting before pit road was open and sent to the tail end was Jason Bowles #81, Kurt Busch #1 (2), Brian Scott #11, Morgan Shepherd #89, Josh Richards #39 (2), Mike Bliss #44 (2), Eric McClure #14, Danny Efland #4, Elliott Sadler #2, Brad Keselowski #22 and Danica Patrick #7
  • Too many crewmembers over the wall during the a pit stop, Elliott Sadler #2 was sent to the tail end of the line.
  • Mike Bliss #44 and Erik Darnell #40 were sent to the back of the pack for outside half of the pit box tire violation/team member not in contact with the outside tires.
  • Jason Bowles #81 had a Safety violation and was sent to the pits to work on sheet metal
  • Justin Allgaier #31 received a pass thru for speeding entering the pits
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #6 went above the blend line exiting the pits and was sent to the tail end of the line


    American Idol Winner Kris Allen At Dover

    Dover International Speedway has asked, season eight winner of American Idol, Kris Allen to perform the National Anthem prior to the June 3, "FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks" NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

    Since winning "American Idol" in 2009, Kris Allen has enjoyed five singles on the Billboard charts, including the hit single "Live Like We're Dying" from his self-titled debut album. His brand new, follow-up album, "Thank You Camellia," is slated for release on May 22, 2012 on 19 Recordings/RCA Records, and features the hit lead single "The Vision of Love."


    Allgaier Perfect Addition To Broadcast Booth

    Jason Allgaier, age 25, joined SPEED commentators in the broadcast booth for Friday's, ARCA Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. The 2008 ARCA Champion and No. 31 Brandt Chevrolet NASCAR Nationwide Series driver was meant for the role, his knowledge and presentation was absolutely impressive.


    33rd Annual Sports Emmy Awards

    CAR Media Group the full-service video and digital production company of NASCAR, last week received a Sports Emmy Award for “Inside the Headsets,” a television program which aired on SPEED the night after the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup All-Star Race last May at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The win was the second in three years for “Inside the Headsets” and the fourth win overall in the last six years in the “Outstanding Live Event Turnaround” category. The 33rd annual Sports Emmy Awards were held at Frederick P. Rose Hall in Lincoln Center in New York.

    Two Time World Of OutLaw Late Model Series (Wo0 LMS) Champion

    Josh Richards, 24 year old and two-time World of Outlaw Late Model Series (Wo0 LMS) champion has missed his first in 287 consecutive races since 2004, in the series. All to become a NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver in the No. 39 JOY Ford. Saturday's Aaron's 312 race at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway, Richards finished in 30th position.


    Feed The Children - Prelude To The Dream

    Tony Stewart's Prelude to the Dream is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6th at Dirt track, Eldora Speedway in New Weston, Ohio. The charity race includes stars from NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA and Motocross. Racers announced to be in the field are, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Kenny Schrader, Ricky Carmichael, Austin Dillon, Jason Leffler, J.J. Yeley, Danica Patrick, Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, Kenny Wallace, Ty Dillon, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch, Dave Blaney, Tony Kanaan, Ron Capps, Jimmie Johnson, Justin Allgaier, Bill Elliott, Ray Evernham, David Gilliland, Cruz Pedrego, Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz.


    Aaron's 499 Penalty List

    Talladega Superspeedway's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Infraction List consists of 22 drivers penalized a total of 33 times.

  • Travis Kvapil #93 and David Gilliland #38 made adjustments outside the impound procedure and were sent to the tail end of the starting lineup
  • Speeding exiting the pits during a yellow flag, David Gilliland #38 and A.J. Allmendinger #22 were sent to the tail end of the line.
  • Terry Labonte #32 was speeding exiting the pits on a green flag and was assessed a pass through penalty
  • Aric Almirola #43 and Terry Labonte #32 were sent to the tail end of line for too many crewmembers over the pit wall
  • Pitting before pit road was open and sent to the tail end of the field were Tony Stewart #14, Kevin Harvick #29 (2), Paul Menard #27, Joey Logano #20 (3), Kurt Busch #51 (2), Denny Hamlin #11, Michael Waltrip #55, Jeff Burton #31, Trevor Bayne #21, Casey Mears #13, Robert Richardson Jr. #23, A.J.     Newman And His Three Piece Boat

    Ryan Newman is an avid outdoorsman, always looking for an opportunity to make his way to the local fishing hole nearest the track where the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in action on any given weekend. While on the road, Newman carries about 12 fishing rods, tackle boxes and a three-piece boat with a trolling motor and battery so he can head out to fish whenever he can. Newman, driver of the No. 39 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet, in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series started fishing and racing right around the same time at age four.


    Still No Word On McClure's Condition

    Eric McClure, driver of the No. 14 Hefty/Reynolds Wrap Toyota, was injured in a wreck during Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series, Aaron's 312 race at Talladega Superspeedway. McClure was cut from his race car, alert & talking and immediately airlifted to University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. Twenty-four hours later we are told he is undergoing tests and remains under observation..


    One Liner's From Talladega

  • Greg Biffle holds the lead by 7 points in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with 378 total points leaving Talladega Superspeedway.
  • Matt Kenseth has made the most money to date in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season at $3,082,191
  • Jeff Gordon lost the most points positions at six, by finishing in 33rd position in the Aaron's 499 race at Talladega Superspeedway
  • J.J. Yeley #49 American Israel Racing/JPO Absorbents Toyota did not make Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, because he was out of the top 35 in points, not because he had the slowest qualifying speed.
  • Matt Kenseth #17 lead the most laps in the Aaron's 499 Sunday.
  • NASCAR estimated 108,500 race fans were in attendance at Talladega Sunday
  • Michael McDowell #98 Curb Records Ford driver was out of Sunday's race on lap 2 due to vibration and still earned $78,681.
  • Four NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers have a driver rating over 100: Kyle Busch 106.2, Greg Biffle 118.4, Brad Keselowski 120.l and Matt Kenseth 128.5
  • Brad Keselowski's win gave Dodge their first win at Talladega Superspeedway since August 8, 1976 when Dave Marcis won.
