NOTES:
Barney Hall Legendary Voice Returns At Martinsville Speedway Race fans heard a familiar voice on Motor Racing Network's coverage from Martinsville Speedway this past weekend. Barney Hall has returned to MRN to anchor the network's coverage of Sunday's Goody's Fast Relief 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race. The Hall of Fame broadcaster was ill and had been sidelined since Speedweeks at Daytona, missing the season opening Daytona 500 for just the third time in the 54 year history of the track. Hall is back in shape, he was passing race fans who were huffing and puffing going up the little hill at Martinsville Speedway with no signs of slowing down.
NASCAR Has Came A Long Way Walking through the garage and infield at Martinsville Speedway this weekend for the 63rd annual Goody's Fast Relief 500, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, it struck me how much has changed in the past 5 decades at local raceways across the country. Back in the day, no one was allowed through the back gate without a NASCAR License, white pants and absolutely NO WOMEN. The minimum age was sixteen with special circumstances. Gone is the NASCAR license to get into the pits, no type of attire seems to be unacceptable, you see shorts, flip flops, heels and pajama's in the mix. The changes seem enormous today, young children are everywhere, women are the norm and not a pair of white pants on the entire Speedway property. Imagine it has been many a year since a young woman has had to ask NASCAR for help to make a Track Promoter allow her in the pits and on the race track.
Infraction List At Martinsville Speedway - NCWTS Fourteen penalties were accessed twelve drivers during the Kroger 250, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday afternoon. In all cases the cars were sent to the tail end of the field.

Kasey Kahne Replaces Spotter Kasey Kahne’s spotter was his cousin, Kole Kahne, who has been replaced by a former Jeff Gordon spotter, Shannon McGlamery for the next two races. The two cousins have worked together since Kasey came to NASCAR, having problems from time to time. "I’m going to do two weeks with someone else and then decide after Texas what I want to do.” said Kasey.
Sprint Driver Disqualified After Third Inspection Of Weekend NASCAR disqualified No. 37 NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Tony Raines after he qualified for the Martinsville Speedway, 63rd Annual Goody's Fast Relief 500, when his race car was found to be too low on the third inspection of the weekend. Raines was replaced in the lineup by No. 49 America Israel Racing Toyota driver J. J. Yeley.
